Hot Water Is Broken

Although this isn't really important news to anyone who isn't me, I came back from my weekend and my hot water isn't working. Getting back up into the mountains reminds you how damnably cold it is up here. Its around 14 degrees Fahrenheit when the sun goes down around 5:30. During the day it usually gets up to 34, but never much warmer.

I have an unhappy question in my mind about the possibility that my pipes have frozen, but the fact that the cold water is working leaves me mostly befuddled. Instead, it seems that the hot water heater may have gone out, crusty antiquity that it is.

I really wanted a hot dip into my furo¹ tonight to warm up my body before getting into bed. Instead I 'enjoyed' having a toweling off using water I heated over my gas stove. Somehow it just didn't quite do it for me.
